The hats are given out every three hours until midnight tonight pacific time - you still have plenty of time to get the hood. And if you miss it then you can trade 125 cc shards to an npc during the next week to get one.

about the hats...

Hood is ok with my dervish and female mesmer. Some clipping and dying issues but it can work.

The scarf looks good on bulky male characters such as warriors but less bulky figures like sins and necros look a little suffocated - kind of like a toddler wearing dad's scarf.

basically satisfied and will use both with certain characters.

Im liking how you dont end up with multiple copies of the hats in your inventory anymore. Also very nice touch to add a scarf to the npc, it will get do all three versions of it. My opinions on the hats: Its great to see scarves and hoods for all your chars that arent proffesion based or needed to be bought from the online store. However its kinda annoying theyre classed as the headpiece and you cant wear your other headpiece or costume gear with it. Maybe its just the way its programmed to be in the head region. I havent tested how the scarves look with the other costume bottoms.

Love the hoods this year.

Like some others, am very disappointed with the lack of grentches and dropping pressies this year - it was always a fun touch to Wintersday.

Kind of thought Anet may have been leaving them to maybe the last couple of days for whatever reason, but no .....

Ya like the hoods as well.. Missed the grentchies and present drops. Did they give a reason why they were removed? Seems odd.

I was hoping they removed the gretches because they were going to add a bit to the finale like they did with Halloween and the emote game. I guess there was less lag in town if that was what they were going for. Sure miss the grentches though.

This was my suspicion, too. From the "snowball" hints from Shayne and the website announcement page, I was expecting some outpost snowball fights or something, which would require clearing out the grentches.

Maybe around noon Pacific something will happen.

Anyway.... I just got my scarves after getting my hood last night before bed. Hoods are okay (nice for non-dervishes who haven't bought costumes, since the reaper hood was a little...odd), but I really like the scarves. Liked 'em in the leaked pics, like them on my characters. Fun to have something that doesn't cover your head for a change.

The scarves are nice too, although most of my characters seem to suit the hood better (or rather, their outfit does).

Would be great if we could wear two headpieces at once - I'm thinking the scarves + the spectercles would look pretty good together
... ah well...

Also, it would be nice to have an official statement on the removal of the grentches/presents this year, even if it's just confirming what others have guessed at.

Anyhow, a belated Happy New Year all....

Cheers.

The hood fits perfectly to Granite Citadel Elite Armor for male mesmers.

i never liked hoods at all, due to hair removal when wearing

but i got all (or just both, as you only gotta show 1 scarf to make em all at hat maker)
still missed the grentchies, maybe they'll do it after the event, i dunno

anyway, its nice still got time to do the snowball quest in LA... letse go ( yea yea, i wont get that mini polar bear, but still)

Hood looks awesome, seems like it would work well with Norn Ritualist armor as well. Not too wild about the scarves but hey...free is good.

I really enjoyed the hats, especially the scarves. It was most interesting to actually get three at once instead of the normal one-hat-take-it-or-leave-it sort of deal. Also, why on Earth was my original post one that was meant to be in another thread? D:

The hood goes very (very very) well with Norn ranger. For years I have hidden the silly ranger mask, now I can wear something that rangers always should have had!

i miss watching people running gifts and die when they fail. if they were removed to reduce lag..but did that fail! xD it was still laggy as heck with all that snow and crap. and i did a few grenth side hat final and ones i stayed in did pop grentchies to kill you. thought it took forever for them to do their part. i dont like how you cant dye scarfs and they look silly on most of my girls but OMG i love the hoodie! i was sad that the only good hood up to now was with one of the costume.

didnt see it worth shelling out money for that costume(shining blade) when all i wanted was the hood. likewise for the one halloween costume with the black wings (all i wanted was the wings xD) love how fuzzy wussy the hoodie is. cant wait for the event to end. tbh i hated it xD same old stuff but least i was able to max out my party and sugar title! xD

THIS.

I was erm, under the influence shall we say when I used my last makeover credit to pick the stupid hairstyle (that clips Norn armor like mad) my ranger has right now and I'm too lazy to buy another new makeover kit to rectify my brainfart. The hood does that for me quite nicely:

The hood might go well with Ranger Norn Armor, but it clips like hell both in Male and Female form...

I'm disappointed that once again no new jingle pet.
I was disappointed that no new quests. What happened to the more of Mad Kings court we we're supposed to be getting? There was nothing added to Halloween and then nothing added to Wintersday.
I was disappointed that Kormir and Lyssa didn't take sides even though their costumes were added. 2010 Melandru and Belthazar were mentioned in the finale dialogue. Kormir and Lyssa should have taken sides too.

My Nighfall necormancer looks really spookie in the hat. Which I find funny given who its supposed to be from. The scarves on the other hand just look silly. I commented to my guildies that they make my toons look like Tom Baker's Doctor Who.
